Jasper Fire Ban 2023

Jasper National Park Fire Ban Lifted

Wildfires Contained, Campfires Permitted

Reservations Canceled and Refunded

Jasper National Park has lifted the fire ban that was imposed on June 9th, 2023. This decision comes after significant rainfall has reduced the fire risk in the area.

In the past 24 hours, the park has received approximately 10 millimeters of rain. This precipitation has helped to dampen the dry vegetation and reduce the risk of wildfires.

As a result of the reduced fire risk, campfires are now permitted in designated fire pits or fire rings within the park. However, visitors are reminded to keep their campfires small and to never leave them unattended.

The fire ban cancellation also means that reservations that were made between July 23rd and August 6th will be automatically canceled and fully refunded.

The Jasper Fire Department would like to thank the public for their cooperation during the fire ban. Your actions helped to keep our community safe. However, it is important to remember that the fire danger can change rapidly. Please be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the Jasper Fire Department immediately.
