Jasper Evacuated Due to Wildfire Risk
Evacuation Alert Issued for Town of Jasper and Jasper National Park
An Evacuation Alert has been issued for the Town of Jasper and Jasper National Park. This is a preventative measure due to the number of fires in the area. Evacuation orders were issued around 10 pm for everyone in Jasper home to around 4000 residents and Jasper National Park, according to the authorities in the province of Alberta. About 4700 residents of the Alberta mountain town of Jasper and visitors to Jasper National Park have been forced to evacuate after a wildfire.
Evacuation Order Issued for Pyramid Lake
An Evacuation Order has also been issued for Pyramid Lake. This order affects approximately 1000 people. Residents are being asked to leave the area immediately. The wildfire is burning out of control and is expected to grow in size. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
