Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been criticized by Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou for his comments about Son Heung-min.
Bentancur said that Son was not a "world-class" player after Tottenham's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
Postecoglou, who managed Son at Tottenham, said that Bentancur's comments were a "big error".
Postecoglou said: "I think Rodrigo made a big error in his comments about Son."
"Son is a world-class player and has been for many years.
He's one of the best players in the Premier League and has been for a long time.
He's a player that I have a lot of time for and I think he's a great player."
Postecoglou also said that Bentancur's comments were disrespectful to Son.
"I think it's important to show respect to other players, especially players of Son's quality," he said.
"I think Rodrigo's comments were disrespectful and I don't think they were fair.
Son has been one of the best players in the Premier League for many years and I think he deserves more respect than that."
Bentancur's comments have also been criticized by Tottenham fans.
Many fans have taken to social media to express their anger at Bentancur's comments.
One fan tweeted: "Bentancur's comments about Son are a disgrace. Son is one of the best players in the world and deserves more respect than that."
Another fan tweeted: "I can't believe Bentancur said that about Son. Son is a world-class player and Bentancur is just jealous."
Bentancur has since apologized for his comments.
He said: "I would like to apologize for my comments about Son Heung-min.
I was wrong to say that he is not a world-class player.
He is a great player and I have a lot of respect for him.
I apologize to Son and to the Tottenham fans."
